This oval bronze belay brush has extra long bristles, namely 20 mm instead of 12 mm. This allows you to brush even deeper the old wax from the belay before you start waxing. Brush the old wax out of your ski or snowboard and put a new layer on. After brushing, your belay already looks different.
The old wax and perhaps other debris must be removed from the belay so that the new wax will not be contaminated and thus not work as well. The bronze long-haired brush from Holmenkol gets extr deep into the pores of your ski, snowboard or cross-country ski belay.
In the long run, using a bronze brush may not be enough. Then we recommend a clean waxing of the belay. Wax your ski or snowboard and scratch it off immediately while the wax on the belay is still warm. This will also pull old wax out of the pores. You could use a universal wax for this. You can also use a different wax. The advantage of a warmer and universal wax is that they are softer and easier to use. Also, the universal wax is comparatively cheaper than other waxes.
